Meditation for semester 2 2014 will be held on Tuesdays 1-2pm at UQ Multifaith Chaplaincy every week during semester (starting from Week 1). We will be joining with a diverse group of staff and students for sitting and walking meditation.
Everyone who is interested in practicing still, silent meditation is welcome to attend.
The Multi-Faith Prayer Space is on the ground level of Building 38 (behind the Social Sciences building and underneath the Chaplaincy Unit offices). The front door of this building is kept locked by the University but there are always lots of people coming and going through this door who are very willing to let you in. So either follow someone else in or indicate to people inside and they will open the door for you. Then walk down the corridor, past the Muslim prayer area, and you will see a large spacious room on the left. We will be in there!
The sitting begins on the dot at 1.05pm. If you are attending for the first time please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so we can show you the room and arrange a cushion or chair for you.
Here is what happens at our sitting:
* Bell to start, sharply at 1.05pm
* 20 minutes of still, silent sitting
* 5 minutes of free walking or stretching (whatever you want to do)
* Another 20 minutes of still, silent sitting
* Bell to close at 1.50pm
Cushions and chairs are available for you to use.
